Hello friends,
I just lost another really tight match, 7-6, 7-6… and honestly, I know exactly why: I freeze up in tiebreaks. My first-serve percentage drops, my shots get tentative, and I start guiding the ball instead of swinging freely.
It’s frustrating because I know I’m playing better than my opponent for most of the match — but when it gets to the breaker, my nerves take over.
What mental or tactical tricks do you guys use to stay loose in those pressure moments?
-
Do you change your game plan for the tiebreak?
-
Any breathing or relaxation techniques that work?
-
What about between-points routines that help reset?
I’d love to hear what’s helped you manage nerves when everything’s on the line. This keeps costing me matches I should probably be winning!
Thanks
