The PaceX Pro is a next-generation tennis ball machine powered by AI. It can track your position on the court and adapt its ball feeding based on where you are standing. It’s a truly impressive machine, with a well-designed app and fully customizable drills. It’s honestly one of the best ball machines I’ve ever tested, and after using it for several months, I’m still extremely happy with it.
The Vavor is more of a previous-generation tennis ball machine. It’s solid and does the job. I’ve used it for years, from the Covid period up until now (2025). The app is nice but quite limited. To be honest, if I had to order a new machine today, I would definitely go for a next-generation model.
It can’t, for example, pause automatically after 10 balls. It can do topspin or backspin, but you can’t combine both within the same drill. So if you program a topspin sequence, you’ll get 50 topspin balls in a row. All it really does is send balls into roughly six different court zones. It’s a nice, decent machine, but very limited in terms of features.
The Slinger Bag is an older-generation ball machine that has been very popular, mainly because of its attractive price. Personally, it didn’t really convince me. The main issue, in my opinion, is that it only has a single motor to propel the ball. As a result, it can only produce one type of shot: topspin.
To send the balls far enough, it generates a huge amount of topspin, to the point where it becomes completely unrealistic. It almost feels like you’re constantly playing against Nadal.
That said, it is convenient. It’s a true all-in-one product: a bag where you store the balls, which you simply place on the court and start playing. But beyond that, its features are very limited. It only offers a basic oscillation module, with no additional options.
In the end, it’s an okay machine, but overall I find it very average, and quite disappointing for my taste.
it is also a previous-generation tennis ball machine – probably the best of that older generation. It comes with a built-in tablet that lets you create high-quality, programmable drills.
Back in the early 2020s, I probably would have said it was the best tennis ball machine in the world. But time has passed, and a new generation of ball machines has arrived. They simply offer much more than what the HIGHTOFF can do. On top of that, the very high price of the HIGHTOFF is a real barrier to purchase.
Its weight – around 40 to 50 kg – and the fact that it needs to be plugged into a power outlet also mean it’s basically a club-only machine.

What can I say? It’s robust – the motors are still running, which is impressive given their age. It moves and oscillates a bit randomly from side to side and feeds balls with either topspin or backspin, and that’s basically all it does. But it does it well, and it’s been doing it for almost 20 years, so it’s a solid little machine. That said, you can hardly find these anymore, maybe second-hand on local classifieds at best.
