Hi friends!
Here’s a solo tennis drill inspired by Carlos Alcaraz’s backhand defense. The goal is to strengthen your backhand under pressure while keeping control of placement and depth in defensive situations.
Drill execution:
Place the ball machine in front of you, centered on the baseline, and program a sequence of two balls spaced 3 seconds apart:
First ball: a powerful ball simulating a serve to the forehand side but close to the middle. Send it back with a defensive backhand, maintaining control and a high trajectory over the net.
Second ball: a very wide ball to the backhand side. Sprint to recover your position and return it with solid backhand defense, prioritizing depth and safety.
Do 10 complete sets, with 20 seconds of recovery between each set.

This drill will help improve your defensive balance, rally resilience, and your ability to turn a defensive situation into a counter-attack—just like Alcaraz does so well.
