Hi everyone!
Here’s a solo tennis drill inspired by a legendary battle between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. You’ll reproduce a high-tempo sequence mixing power, precision and trajectory variation to work on point construction.
How to run the drill:
Place the ball machine in front of you, centered on the baseline, and program a sequence of four balls:
- First ball: a powerful ball to the forehand side. Recover your position quickly and send it back with a deep cross-court forehand, aiming for both depth and good net clearance.
- Second ball: a slightly topspun cross-court ball to the backhand side. Move laterally and hit a long, solid cross-court backhand.
- Third ball: another ball to the forehand side. Stay aggressive and hit a deep cross-court forehand again, always with control and an attacking mindset.
- Fourth ball: a powerful ball directed to the backhand side. Sprint to recover your position and hit a very short, sharp, and powerful cross-court backhand to surprise your imaginary opponent and finish the point.
Do 10 complete sets with 20 seconds of rest between each set.

Little tip: On every cross-court shot, slightly turn your front shoulder toward the target to gain stability and directional control.
