Today I'm going to show you an exercise to work on your backhand drop shots.
Execution of the exercise:
- My partner sends me the balls with a rather low trajectory, perfect for practicing drop shots.
- To successfully cushion the backhand, I use the semi-open grip, that is to say, by turning the side of the screen that should hit the ball upwards, but not all the way.
- I have to be careful not to over-tighten the racket at impact. I just want to let the ball slide across the racket with light pressure to really control the power of the drop shot.
- I aim to place the ball in an area that is difficult for your opponent to reach. Ideally, an area near the net to make it more difficult for my opponent to return.
