OVERVIEW

About this ball machine

The Lumistar TERO Pro builds on all the strengths of the original TERO: impressive ball speed, consistent delivery, excellent battery life, and extensive court coverage. It introduces two major improvements.

The first is its new removable ball hopper, which is particularly convenient. It can be easily detached from the machine, closed with a zipper, and used to carry or store tennis balls. A simple but extremely practical design that makes everyday use much easier.

The second, and most significant upgrade, is the dual-camera vision system, designed to track and analyze the player's movements in real time. Combined with artificial intelligence, this technology enables more interactive training sessions, including point simulations that respond to the player's position on the court.

The TERO Pro retains the excellent mechanical performance of the original TERO while taking a significant step toward smarter, more realistic tennis training. Its potential is particularly exciting, although the software and AI features still need further refinement to deliver their full capabilities.

Field test notes

The Lumistar TERO Pro confirms the excellent impressions left by the original TERO. It remains a powerful, accurate, and consistent ball machine, capable of delivering fast, heavy, and realistic shots. From a mechanical standpoint, its performance is still highly convincing.

The biggest improvement comes from its dual-camera vision system and artificial intelligence features. Initial testing has been encouraging: player tracking and interactive point simulations add an exciting new dimension to training. The available statistics and performance analysis tools also look particularly promising, although further testing is needed to assess their full value.

However, one important limitation remains: **the interval between shots can be too long during interactive drills**, preventing the machine from fully reproducing the pace and intensity of a real tennis rally. Given the machine's capabilities, this is somewhat frustrating.

On the practical side, the new removable ball hopper is an excellent improvement and one of our favorite features.

Overall, the TERO Pro is a very good machine. However, with a price premium of approximately €1,000 compared with the original TERO, the additional features are not yet enough to fully justify the extra investment.

Future software updates will be essential to unlock its true potential.

**Testing is still in progress. These initial impressions will be updated after more extensive evaluation of the AI features and player statistics.**

What we liked

Excellent ball quality, with impressive speed, consistency, and accuracy. The dual-camera vision system introduces exciting new training possibilities through AI-powered player tracking and interactive drills. Point simulations show real promise, while the player statistics and performance analysis tools appear particularly useful.

We also particularly appreciate the new removable ball hopper, which is extremely convenient for carrying, storing, and loading tennis balls.

The TERO Pro retains all the strengths of the original TERO, including its lightweight design, portability, excellent battery life, and extensive court coverage.

What could be better

The main limitation is the ball delivery pace during interactive training. Intervals between shots can be too long to recreate the natural rhythm and intensity of a real tennis rally. Improving this aspect through future software updates would make a significant difference.

The AI features are promising, but still require further refinement to deliver a fully convincing experience. The statistical analysis tools also look interesting, although more testing is needed to assess their practical value.

Finally, the additional cost of approximately €1,000 compared with the original TERO is difficult to justify at this stage, considering the current benefits of the upgraded features.

OUR VERDICT

The Lumistar TERO Pro is an excellent tennis ball machine that retains all the strengths of the original TERO while introducing a highly practical removable hopper and promising AI-powered features.

Player tracking and performance statistics open up exciting new training possibilities, but ball delivery timing still needs improvement to create truly realistic rallies.

At this stage, the approximately €1,000 price premium is difficult to justify. Nevertheless, the TERO Pro is an exciting machine with considerable potential, and future software updates could make a real difference.

**Testing in progress — provisional verdict.**
