200 Smash drill - Alternate backhand smash and low volley

Hi friends.

Today we are going to see an exercise to work on both the smash and the low volley.

Execution of the exercise:

The player positions himself near the net.

  • The coach or partner sends a ball for the backhand smash.
  • The player executes a backhand smash with power and precision.
  • Right after, a lower ball is sent simulating a low volley.
  • The player rushes forward and performs a low volley.

The player repeats this sequence, alternating between the backhand smash and the low volley each time the ball is sent. This exercise aims to develop the backhand smash technique as well as the low volley technique,
while improving responsiveness and the ability to adapt to different playing situations near the net.
