Today, we are going to talk about a tennis volley exercise.
So here's how it goes:
- My partner throws forehands and backhands at me. Then, at the net, I have to return the balls inside the service square on the fly.
- We exchange roles after 20 ends, so everyone has a chance to do both parts of the game.
When we feel comfortable, we can add a little more power to our shots. But we must be careful to absorb the power of the blow while ensuring that our weight is properly transferred forward.
This is super important to have good control over the ball and to avoid hitting it too hard.
This exercise is good because it helps us improve our coordination, our control of the ball on the fly and our responsiveness on the field.
