Hi

On a personal level, when it is Elouan who plays I am sometimes at the edge of the field, I observe and I analyze but sometimes not. In fact, I often do something else and watch the match from afar... or even go watch other matches. As for Wilhelm (Elouan's brother who plays), I'm rarely at the edge of the field because it disrupts his game. So I move away from the field and watch from afar.
- Sometimes I feel that my children need support: so I go to the sidelines and give them a little encouragement.
- Sometimes I feel that they need to be alone in their bubble: so I move away from the field.
- Sometimes we play against cheaters, so I'm there and I take a good look at the balls: that calms the cheater.
- Sometimes...
All kinds of situations are possible...
I think you shouldn't be on the sidelines with your child all the time: you sometimes have to let them manage it alone, it's part of learning.
I have noticed that some children, during a match, systematically turn to their coach or their parents to seek their approval. Nothing bad in itself, it's even quite natural... however parents and coaches will not always be there during matches to support the children and if the child is not prepared, the day he is alone, he will have more difficulty managing alone a difficult situation that he encounters in the field.
Also I recommend that you not always be next to the field during your child's matches.
