Hi friends!
Here’s a group tennis drill to turn your return of serve into an immediate attack. The ball machine will simulate powerful serves to get you ready for tight matches.
The goal is to develop an aggressive, accurate return of serve, followed by an attacking shot to take control of the rally from the very first strokes.
Drill execution:
Players A, B, C, D line up behind the baseline.
A ball machine is placed on the other side of the net, in the center.
- The machine sends a fast ball into the service box (serve simulation).
- Player A hits a firm cross-court return.
- The ball machine immediately sends a second ball.
- Player A must finish the point with an attacking shot into the corner.
- After 4 complete sequences, A moves to the back of the line and B takes their place.
- The drill then continues with each player.
This drill develops aggression right from the return of serve, improves early ball-taking, and teaches how to follow up with a winning strike to gain an immediate advantage.
