Hello friends, today we are going to see an exercise to simulate the situation where a player must step back to perform a smash in tennis.
Execution of the exercise:
- Player A positions himself near the plot.
- The coach or partner throws the ball in the air as if it were a lob, this simulating a ball that the opponent would have hit above the player's head.
- The player must then step back quickly while maintaining good balance and adjusting his position to place himself under the ball.
- Once in a good position, the player uses his right hand to catch the ball as if he were performing a smash.
- After executing the movement, the player returns to his initial position, returns the ball to the coach and prepares to repeat the exercise.
This drill aims to improve the player's ability to step back effectively and execute a smash successfully, even when under pressure and must quickly adjust their position on the court.
