Control racket vs power racket - what really holds up in matches?

Hey all,
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately during matches, not just warm-ups or practice sessions.

On paper, it feels simple:

  • Control rackets give you better precision, more feedback, and a sense of security when points get tight.
  • Power rackets help with depth and penetration, especially when timing or legs aren’t perfect, but sometimes feel harder to rein in under pressure.

In real match situations, especially on big points, I notice I swing more freely with a control frame. With a power racket, I sometimes hesitate, worried the ball might fly if I don’t commit perfectly.

So I’m curious how others experience this.

Do you feel more confident attacking with control, or does easy depth from a power racket actually calm your game when nerves kick in?
