Tennis Club Politics – How do you keep tennis fun when egos take over?

Hi everyone !

I need to vent and ask for advice.

The atmosphere at my tennis club feels toxic lately. Cliques, favoritism, and ego issues are everywhere. Social tennis now feels stressful instead of fun.

I love tennis, but the politics drain my motivation.

  • Have you experienced this at your club?
  • How do you deal with it long term?
  • Is creating an independent group realistic?
  • When do you know it’s time to leave a club?

Any shared experience would really help.

Sadly, this is common in many clubs. Competition and ego create tension. Focus on your own enjoyment. Don’t let politics steal your love for the game.
