Why some losses move your game forward more than wins

Hello friends,

Quick share after last weekend.

Lost in the first round, which obviously isn’t what anyone wants. But honestly? I played some of my best tennis in months.

Good intensity, clear decisions, stayed committed even on big points. I walked off disappointed by the result, but also strangely proud of how I played.

That mix is confusing. On paper, it’s a loss. On court, it felt like progress.

How do you personally measure improvement when the scoreboard doesn’t reflect it yet?

I keep a simple journal. After a match, I write down two things I did well and one specific thing to work on. After a good loss, that one thing is crystal clear and incredibly motivating. It turns frustration into focused energy for my next practice.
