357 Group Tennis Drill – Work on Net Speed and Reactivity on Low Balls

Hi everyone!

Here’s a reflex drill at the net, specially designed for 4 players. This version lets 4 players train continuously with a smooth rotation to develop quick reactions on fast balls.

The goal of this drill is to improve reactivity and accuracy on fast volleys thanks to a continuous rotation system using a ball machine and progressive targets.

How to run the drill:

For this exercise, use a ball machine placed in the centre at the back of the court and set up 5 cones in strategic areas to act as targets.

On the other side of the court, 4 players A, B, C and D line up in single file.

  • The first player (A) comes up to about 2 m from the net.
  • The machine sends 5 fast balls.
  • A volleys each ball toward a different target zone.
  • After the 5th ball, A goes to the back of the line and B immediately moves up to the net.
  • The machine restarts without any delay to keep the drill intense.

Focus on accuracy by trying to hit as many targets as possible.
