306 – Physical Exercise: Improve Flexibility with the Human Knot

We’re going to work on your flexibility with an exercise that thoroughly stretches your hips, legs, and back.

Sit on your gym mat with your legs slightly bent in front of you and drawn in toward your torso. Slide your left hand under your left leg to take hold of your right leg, then gently bring it underneath your left leg. Next, wrap your arms around your left leg as though you were giving it a big hug, while keeping your back straight and your shoulders relaxed. Hold this position for 30 to 40 seconds while breathing deeply.

Then release slowly, switch sides, and repeat the exercise by sliding your right hand under your right leg to take hold of the left leg and guide it underneath. Wrap your arms around your right leg and hold the position.
