OVERVIEW

About this ball machine

The VEVOR is a solid and reliable tennis ball machine that covers the essential training needs: speed, spin, oscillation and basic programmable placement.

We used it for several years, from the Covid period through 2025, and it proved dependable and effective for repetitive training. However, compared with newer-generation machines, its limitations are now obvious. The app is functional but basic, drill programming is limited, and it lacks the flexibility and intelligence offered by more modern systems.

Field test notes

Solid and consistent ball delivery with enough pace for regular training. Topspin and backspin are both available, but they cannot be mixed within the same drill. Placement is functional rather than highly precise, with the machine essentially targeting a limited number of court zones. Reliable for repetition, but not particularly realistic for complex point construction.
What we liked

Solid build, reliable operation, good basic ball delivery, topspin and backspin, app control and proven durability over several years of use.

What could be better

Limited app and drill programming, no mixed topspin/backspin sequences, no automatic pause after a set number of balls, limited court targeting and no advanced AI features.

OUR VERDICT

A dependable previous-generation ball machine that served us well for years. It still handles basic repetition and movement drills effectively, but its limited programming and lack of smarter training features make it difficult to recommend over newer-generation machines today.
One response to “Vevor TS-08”

  1. We used the VEVOR ball machine for seven years, with fairly intensive use, around once or twice a week.

And honestly, I have to give it credit: the battery lasted, the machine lasted, and it did its job. For us, it was a very reliable training tool for many years, and it genuinely helped us improve our game.

Of course, compared with today’s more advanced ball machines, it now feels quite dated. Ball placement, left-to-right distribution, lobs and overall shot variety are much more limited than on newer machines. The app is also very basic compared with what is available today.

But it can still do the essentials: feed balls to the left, right and centre, and provide simple, effective repetition drills.

So yes, technology has moved on and there are now much more sophisticated machines available. But after seven years of regular use, I can only have a lot of respect for this machine.

It was reliable, durable, and it genuinely helped us progress. For that alone, it deserves a very positive mention.
