Dead strings or just an Off Day?

Lately my forehand feels late and uncomfortable. Nothing changed in my technique, but timing feels off. I am wondering if this is equipment related or simple fatigue.

Has this happened to you before?

  • How do you tell the difference between dead strings and bad timing?
  • Do you notice warning signs before performance drops?

I agree, check your strings first. But also, feel the weight of your racket. Did you recently add an overgrip or dampener? Even a few grams can change the swing timing you're used to. Go back to your exact baseline setup to rule it out.
