Players who make the court look smaller for opponents

Hi friends,

Have you ever watched a match and felt like one player is… everywhere?

Not necessarily the fastest. Not hitting the hardest. But somehow, the opponent looks like there’s no open space on the court.

You try to change direction. They’re there. You go cross. They’re there. You try to open the angle. Still there.

It feels like the court has shrunk.

So what really creates that feeling for the opponent? Is it raw speed, perfect positioning, or anticipation?

Do you feel this more against players who are fast… or against players who just always seem perfectly placed?

I think anticipation matters more than pure speed. Reading the play early makes a huge difference.

They seem to move before you even finish your shot. Always in the right place early.
