Hello !
I just rewatched the highlights from Alcaraz’s Madrid Open victory, and honestly, his forehand might be the most devastating shot in tennis right now. The way he generates insane racket-head speed with that explosive topspin — it’s just brutal. What really blows my mind is how he can rip it from any position, even when he’s completely stretched out.
Here’s what makes it so special in my opinion:
-
The heavy topspin that pushes opponents meters behind the baseline
-
The ability to switch from defense to attack in a single swing
-
The disguise and variety : he can hit a drop shot or a rocket down the line from the same setup
How would you guys compare it to the other great forehands of this era?
Would you put it above Sinner’s flat missile, Djokovic’s surgical precision, or Nadal’s heavy topspin forehand?
Curious to hear your takes!
