Australian Open 2026 Men’s Final – Alcaraz makes history

Hi everyone,

What a final we just witnessed in Melbourne.

Carlos Alcaraz defeats Novak Djokovic 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 to win the Australian Open 2026 and, at only 22 years old, becomes the youngest player in the Open Era to complete a Career Grand Slam.

The first set looked worrying for Alcaraz. Djokovic was dictating, changing pace, pulling him side to side, and exposing small timing issues. It felt like a typical Djokovic final script.

Then the match completely flipped.

So the real question is not that Alcaraz won… but how he managed to reverse the tactical dynamic so convincingly after that first set.
