Too many matches Back-to-Back (my mind gets tired first)

Hi,

You know the feeling. Your tournament schedule is packed, or you've played several intense league matches in a row. Physically, you might be holding up okay, a little sore, but nothing major. Mentally, though, you're completely spent. Your focus is foggy, your patience is thin, and even winning feels like a chore.

This is the wall of mental fatigue. It's real, and it can be harder to recover from than a muscle strain.

  • How do you differentiate between being physically tired and being mentally burnt out from too much competition?
  • What are your strategies for mental recovery between matches? Is it complete rest, or a different kind of activity?
  • Do you ever push through a mental low point to play, and does it ever pay off?
  • How do you plan your schedule to avoid this crash in the first place?

Thanks for your thoughts Smile
