Quick question about tennis shoes.

Do expensive models really make a noticeable difference, or are we mostly paying for the brand name?

I’m currently hesitating between mid-range and top-tier shoes, and I’m not sure if the price jump is actually justified.

I play a few times a week on hard courts, so comfort and durability matter, but I don’t want to overspend if it’s not necessary.

What’s the weirdest habit you’ve ever seen on a tennis court?

I once played a guy who bounced the ball like 20 times before every single serve… no joke. By the second set, it was driving me crazy 😅

I get that everyone has routines, but some are just next level.

Why is it so hard to find consistent hitting partners?

I feel like people either cancel last minute, disappear after a couple of sessions, or only want to play matches. Don’t get me wrong, matches are great. But sometimes I just want solid practice rallying, drills, working on consistency.

It’s frustrating because having regular hitting sessions would help improve way more than random matches here and there.

How do you guys deal with this at your club? Any tips to find more reliable partners?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the mental side of tennis lately.

Do you think confidence is actually more important than technique?

I’ve seen players with pretty average strokes win matches just because they fully believe in their game. They go for their shots, stay aggressive, and don’t overthink.

On the other hand, I’ve also seen technically strong players completely fall apart under pressure, tight arm, too passive, making unforced errors at key moments.

So in the end, what really matters more? Solid technique or confidence?

Do you think tennis players today are actually better overall than they were 10–15 years ago?

The game definitely feels faster and way more physical now. Rallies are intense, players move insanely well, and the baseline level is crazy high.

But at the same time, I’m not sure about variety. I feel like older generations had more different styles: slice, net play, all-court tennis; whereas now it’s more baseline-heavy.

Curious to hear your opinions on this. Has tennis really improved, or just evolved in a different direction?

Quick question, do you guys ever take long breaks from tennis?

I haven’t played in about 3 weeks now, and I’m a bit worried I’m going to come back playing terribly… timing off, no rhythm, all that.

At the same time, I kind of feel like my body needed the rest. I was starting to feel a bit tired physically and mentally before stopping.

So I’m curious, in your experience, do breaks actually help your game in the long run, or do they just mess up your level and consistency?

I’ve got a quick question about tennis shoes durability.

I keep destroying my shoes in like 2 months max, sometimes even less. I play mostly on hard courts, around 3–4 times a week, pretty intense sessions.

The outsole just wears out super fast, especially around the toe and lateral side.

Is that normal for hard court players, or am I doing something wrong with my movement or footwork?
